Conducted by Jia Xin Ng
Duration: 9 hours Language: English
Greenhouse gas emissions management is gaining attention due to a combination of environmental concerns, regulatory pressures, corporate responsibility, risk management, cost savings, market competitiveness, supply chain considerations, investor influence, and technological advancements. Organisations are increasingly recognising that addressing GHG emissions is not only essential for mitigating climate change but also for ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience in a rapidly changing business landscape.
This e-Learning course is customised to help learners enhance their awareness of climate change and the increasing demand for organisations to develop and implement GHG management strategies and plans. Additionally, this e-Learning course will equip participants with the know-how of GHG quantification, monitoring, reporting, verification, and validation.
This topic is aimed to let participants understand the basic science behind climate change and its impact to economic development. Participants will get a grasp on the importance of GHG management to their organisations as well as internationally recognised GHG accounting and reporting standards.
This topic is curated to simplify GHG calculation methodology for participants to understand the importance of providing quality activity data for accurate GHG quantification. Besides that, participants will learn how to choose the most suitable emission factor and report GHG emissions in a proper manner. ISO 14064-1:2018 is used as the reporting standard in this workshop.
This topic emphasises on the importance of teamwork in maintaining the GHG inventory for continuous improvement. GHG inventory shall be verified and validated by a third-party certification body to enhance its credibility, consistency and transparency. ISO 14064-3 is the standard used by verifier to conduct the verification process.
This topic will provide guidance to the participants on how to communicate your GHG inventory, GHG avoidance and GHG reductions to your stakeholders and avoid greenwashing. Unverified green claims are gaining more attention from the authority, especially in the European countries. It is important to understand and learn how to communicate the information effectively.
This topic is aimed to bring participants together as a team to develop GHG management strategies and plans to improve the organisation’s economic performance and reputation through setting GHG emissions reduction or removal enhancement targets and developing decarbonisation plans.
